Stringfellow Restaurants, the company headed by entrepreneur Peter Stringfellow, has unveiled a gross 70% jump in profits to £5.06m. Newly published accounts from the private company show that operating profits were £1.53m on sales of £7.32m. Stringfellow's Soho, a second lapdancing club created under the auspices of a sister company, continued to lose money in the year. The directors of the company said that while it may become profitable by the end of 2008 "subject to prevailing economic conditions", a provision had been made to write down the value of a £750,000 inter-group loan to the new club.
