Pret A Manger has confirmed its partnership with Roadchef, as revealed by MCA last month.
The first shop will open at Chester services on the M56 with a second opening at Clacket Lane West on the M25 in the spring of 2018.
Pret chief executive Clive Schlee said: “Pret’s fast service is perfect for busy travellers, and we are looking forward to increasing our presence on motorways in the UK. Our shops will obviously have their own kitchens on the premises, which ensures that our food will be freshly prepared throughout the day.”
Simon Turl, Roadchef chief executive said: “This announcement is part of our continued commitment and investment in providing a diverse offering to visitors using our sites. Renowned for its high quality menu, Pret is an instantly recognisable brand that will be a great addition to our sites and we’re delighted to be bringing its fantastic range of food and hot drinks to the motorway.”
Last year, Pret opened its first roadside site under partnership with Welcome Break, at its South Mimms services.
Earlier this summer, Leon opened its first motorway sites with Roadchef at Norton Canes on the M6 toll and Strensham South on the M5.
Roadchef currently operates 30 motorway service areas in 21 locations in the UK. It is the third largest motorway service area operator behind Welcome Break and Moto.
All three motorway services operators have invested significant sums on improving their F&B offers over the last few years.
