PizzaExpress will launch gluten-free dough balls on to its menu from 22 March.

The company said: “After years in development, to ensure they’re as good as the original, we are delighted to introduce delicious, light and airy gluten-free dough balls to the nation! Which are, of course, perfect when accompanied by classic garlic butter. Available in restaurants from March 22nd for £3.95 (GF,V).”

The group introduced its first gluten-free bases in 2013.

Since then, it said that one of the top requests from guests has been for the introduction of gluten-free dough balls.
