Nusa Kitchen, the Singapore-style soup concept, is launching a fresh private fundraise, which aims to raise £500,000-£1m, to fund two new sites, MCA has learnt.

The six-strong grab and go concept is calling on high net worth investors, family and friends and existing investors to fund two more sites, with Canary Wharf and Covent Garden to be targeted.

Chief executive Hubert Zanier said a delivery only kitchen in Canary Wharf had been trading strongly, and having tested the market, there was now a desire to establish a bricks and mortar presence there.

He said he was considering experimenting with virtual brands, which would be developed from Nusa’s production kitchen in Barking, with Indian cuisine considered a natural fit with the fusion flavours of Singapore.

Meanwhile Zanier and his business partners Stephan Seissl and Christian Riedel have acquired Austrian coffee house and kitchen Kipferl, in Camden Passage.

Zanier said the concept, which serves Austrian cakes and Viennese specialities such as wiener schnitzel, could be expanded with more sites, with the potential to spin-out the speciality cake range into a delivery brand.
