The logo for The Restaurant Group’s Wagamama food-to-go spin-off Mamago has been unveiled, along with teasers of the new menu.

The Mamago logo will use the same font as the original Wagamama logo, as well as the familiar red and white colour scheme, plus its signature single red star.

Meanwhile the menu, specifically designed for the new opening, looks set to include wraps packed with Pan-Asian ingredients and fruit pots.

The mock-up images of Mamago were contained in TRG’s results presentation, where the performance of Wagamama, which TRG bought for £559m in October 2018, was the standout positive.

TRG said the Mamago concept, which will launch with a single pilot store on Fenchurch Street in London, was now “developed” suggesting the images are an accurate reflection of what TRG will unveil later this year.

A spokesman for Wagamama said the menu would be made up of “grab-and-go adaptions on Wagamama classics like Katsu to new and innovative, nutritionally-balanced and flavour-packed dishes built for breakfast and lunch.”

It’s not clear whether the outlet will serve alcohol.

The interior design is also likely to feature a large curved counter and Japanese lanterns.
