MWB Holdings, the owner of Hotel du Vin and Malmaison, has become the latest UK operator to remove foie gras from the menus at its 28 hotels and restaurants nationwide following a campaign by animal rights charity PETA.

Last year Brakes Group, the catering supplier, stopped offering foie gras after international catering company Compass Group began the trend the previous year.

MWB Holdings has agreed to remove the controversial food from all of the group’s bistros and brasseries.
