MEATliquor, the popular, fast-casual concept, has secured its second site in Singapore, with an opening scheduled before the end of the year, M&C has learnt.

The Scott Collins-led group, which opened its first international site earlier this year in Singapore’s Duxton Village, is again teaming up with management company The Blind Group to open a site in Clarke Quay in early December.

Collins told M&C: “The plan was to always do more than one but not this quick. A great number of agents and landlords have been clamouring to offer The Blind Group sites for more MEATliquors in other Asian countries as well as Singapore. This one at Clarke Quay was too good to turn down.

“MEATliquor is as different to the Singapore market as it was when we opened in London four years ago.

“As with all our sites we’ll be hiding in plain sight. In Clarke Quay we’re on the first floor of what was originally a pineapple preserving factory (and then several failed restaurants). It’s slightly bigger , later license and will be tailored for the area . Untold Eats, Beats and Treats with a bespoke design (as is the norm) that should be quite a talking point.”

Earlier this year, the group entered into a joint venture with The Blind Group, the Singapore-based management company specialising in the hospitality sector, which is led by Jacques Dejardin, the former operations director at Jamie Oliver Restaurants.

On the partnership’s first site, Dejardin said: “It’s been a brilliant launch, and been really well received by local and expats alike.”

MEATliquor is due to open in Islington in October. The site in Upper Street will feature outside space for 50, seating for 110 and will be the first of the group’s sites in London with a full bar license.

It will also have a mezzanine floor in the main building and offer tank fresh Budvar.

The group’s opening in Bristol, which has been delayed due to construction issues, will now open in November.
