Charlotte McCarter has stepped down from Giraffe, the Boparan Ventures-backed group, to join Leon as its new head of recruitment and development.

McCarter, formerly of Addison Fowle, joined Giraffe as its head of recruitment in March 2014.

She joined the Tom Crowley-led group after four years as a managing consultant at Addison Fowle and before that managing partner at Eureka Executive Search.

McCarter joins the John Vincent-led chain as it looks set to open in Brighton and Oxford before the end of the year.

MCA understands that the company is due to open on the former HMV unit in Oxford’s Cornmarket, as its continues to up its regional presence.

At the same time, the group, which last week put its Glasgow opening on hold, is understood to have secured a site in Brighton’s North Street close to Waterstones and Pret A Manger.

The 38-strong company plans to open a further 50 sites over the next four years, the majority in the UK, after recently securing a new £19m funding deal. An opening in Manchester is also believed to be on its radar.
