Black & White Hospitality, the Marco Pierre White fronted group, has confirmed it is working with chef Garry Rosser of The Scallop Shell on a new iteration of the celebrity chef’s Wheeler’s brand, as flagged up by MCA earlier this month.
Wheeler’s Fish & Chips Shop, a spin-off of Wheeler’s of St James, will open at the Western Plus Dover Marina Hotel & Spa, alongside a Mr. White’s English Chophouse.
Rosser, whose Bath restaurant the Scallop Shell has won admiration from White, is consulting on the fish and chip concept.
Earlier this month MCA revealed Black & White Hospitality had trademarked the brand The Scallop Shell – though representatives for Rosser denied there was any partnership.
The restaurant will feature an affordable menu including moules marinieres, salt cod croquettes, traditional fish and chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce and fish cake with young spinach, poached egg and tartare sauce.
Meanwhile the 85-cover Mr. White’s English Chophouse Dover will be the third to open in the UK this year.
