Le Relais de Venise L’Entrecote, the French brasserie chain, has confirmed plans for its fourth site in the UK and its first outside London, in Manchester.

The company, which was founded in 1959 by Paul Gineste de Saurs, has secured a c3,200sq ft site in the city’s King Street for a 138-cover restaurant that will open along from the new Jamie’s Italian in the street.

The site is to undergo a refurbishment before re-opening in the next few months.

The group, which is led by managing director Mourad Dine, will open its third site in the UK in London’s Canary Wharf next month, after securing the Goumet Pizza unit.

The group currently operates restaurants in Marylebone, Throgmorton Street, New York and Paris.

The chain is famous for serving steak frites, with a starter of green salad with walnuts dressed with mustard vinaigrette.
