Carluccio’s former restaurant in Hale, Greater Manchester, is to become an independent Italian after the leasehold was acquired by a Cheshire-based company.

The independent restaurant operator already has two restaurants in the area: Sasso in Disley and Cibo in Wilmslow.

The property, on Victoria Road, is due to undergo refurbishment and will trade under the Cibo brand.

Savills acted on behalf of the operator.

Tom Cunningham, director at Savills, said: “We are very pleased to announce that this restaurant will be given a new lease of life, reopening as Cibo Hale following the closure of Carluccio’s. Hale continues to be a popular eating out location with a thriving restaurant trade.”
