Las Iguanas has launched two restaurant experiences that consumers can book through Airbnb.

The casual dining operator has partnered with the online marketplace and hospitality service to become, what is claims is, the first national restaurant group to offer this through the platform.

The bookable activities comprise a bespoke monthly Chef’s Table experience in London, led by Las Iguanas’ head of food development Glenn Evans, and cocktail masterclasses at its flagship restaurant at the Southbank Centre, run by head of bar development Luke Neale.

A spokesperson for Las Iguanas told MCA that although it runs cocktail masterclasses across its estate, the Airbnb sessions give people the chance to learn from its national bar guru, while the Chef’s Table experiences are a new concept.

Participants at Chef’s Table events will sample dishes from across Latin America, learn about the cuisine and detail and try their hand at making their own dish Pli’s Pastels, which Evans and the team discovered at a small beach restaurant, run by Plicila Caetano in Niteroi, near Rio de Janeiro.

“Las Iguanas has always been about experiential casual dining and we liked the idea of extending this to offer a deeper insight in to Latin American cuisine and cocktails along with some hands on activity making cocktails and one of our new dishes from scratch,” said the company. “Having tested their other activities, Airbnb’s experience platform seemed to us the ideal place to list the events.”
