Renowned restaurateur Jeremy King is the special guest speaker at our upcoming R200 summer event, being held on Tuesday 22 July the new Big Easy in London’s Covent Garden.

King, along with business partner Chris Corbin, has been involved with some of London’s most iconic and best-loved restaurants, including Le Caprice, The Ivy and J. Sheekey. His company Corbin & King now operates notable London restaurants The Wolseley, The Delaunay, Brasserie Zédel and Colbert, and has just opened Viennese restaurant Fischer’s in Marylebone.

King will discuss why he is calling for the industry to adopt new working practices and elaborate on those he has put in place at his own restaurants. There will also be a Q&A session where he will talk about his experiences as a restaurateur over the past 30 years as well as his company’s future plans, and answer questions from the floor.

Also speaking at the event will be Simon Stenning, foodservice strategy director at Allegra Foodservice, who will be drawing from the latest Allegra UK Restaurant Market Report and discussing what he describes as ‘a new era of premiumised informality driven by food pleasure seekers’. Jamie Barber, the serial restaurant entrepreneur and co-founder of Brazilian chain Cabana, meanwhile, will discuss the challenges of bringing niche cuisines to the masses.

The morning discussions will be followed by a bounteous barbecue lunch at Big Easy.
