Food-to-go brand Greggs is set to open its first ever fine-dining restaurant experience, Bistro Greggs.

Launching on Friday 1st December and running to New Year’s Eve on 31st December, the concept will be an ”all-day dining destination”, serving a limited-edition breakfast, brunch and lunch menus from a Parisian-inspired designed space in Newcastle’s Fenwicks department store.

The design will take inspiration from the traditional bistros of Saint-Germain featuring white-clothed tables, velvet banquette seating, oak-effect flooring and marble countertops.

The 80-cover space will serve “exquisite” iterations of the pastry brand’s signature menu items paired with Fenwick Food Hall wines and a signature cocktail – the Pink Jammie Fizz created by cocktail brand, Mother Mercy.

Menu items include ’Greggs Festive Bake’ served a-la-carte with duck-fat roasties, smoked pancetta, chestnuts and sprouts with a pouring of silky gravy.

The ’Steak Bake’ will be accompanied by truffled creamy dauphinoise potatoes, green beans and a sprinkling of almonds.

To finish, customers will choose from a selection of sweet treats including a Greggs Yum Yum with caramel sauce and macadamia brittle.

For breakfast, the ’Greggs Benedict’ offers the Greggs Sausage, Bean and Cheese Melt reimagined with smoked ham, poached Cacklebean eggs and a velvety Hollandaise sauce.

Whilst the ‘Full English’ celebrates the icon that is the Greggs Sausage Roll alongside bacon, mushroom, tomato, baked beans and a choice of eggs – scrambled, poached or fried. The dish also comes as a vegetarian and vegan option.

The brand will also offer a  ’High Tea’ for two, allowing diners to enjoy a three-tier sharing brunch.
