Gondola Holdings, the casual dining group, has acquired the former Mela Restaurant in Herne Hill in South London for an undisclosed sum. The Indian Restaurant Group, formerly known as the Mela Group, had owned the restaurant - but the subsidiary company responsible for the site, Param Consultancy, was placed into administration last year. M&C Report understands that Gondola will trade the unit, which was a former bank and features a ground floor and basement, as a Pizza Express. Selsian acted on behalf of Gondola and secured a new 25-year lease on the 3,178 sq ft site. Restaurant Property were also involved in the deal. Christie & Co worked on behalf of the administrator.
