Giraffe, the Boparan Restaurant Holdings-owned restaurant brand, has launched a trial of a new look and menu, under the banner Giraffe World Kitchen, MCA has learnt.

The Tom Crowley-led relaunched its Basingstoke site under the refreshed look earlier this month.

The company told MCA that pending further trial, the new evolved look is set to continue across the Giraffe estate, which currently comprises 45 restaurants in the UK and four restaurants in the UAE.

Giraffe has new openings lined up in Bromley, Eldon Square, Newcastle and The Trafford Centre, Manchester, and said it was “actively searching for more sites”.

It said it was focusing on travel hubs and high footfall locations such as shopping malls for future growth.

On acquiring the brand from Tesco earlier this year Boparan, which also operates the Cinnamon Collection and Harry Ramden’s, said it would operate as a standalone business.

It said: “The business has been acquired with an excellent and capable management team, we will assist as required in line with the rest of our restaurant estate. They will operate as a standalone business to ensure we retain the entrepreneurial spirit we encourage.”
