James Spragg, former chief executive at Yellowhammer Bars and sector consultant, has joined Pizza Express as an interim operations director for the c400-strong chain, M&C Report has learnt.
Spragg, who spent three years up to last February as the head of Yellowhammer, joins the pizza chain as it commences the process of finding a replacement for former chief executive Steve Easterbrook, who left the company last month to join Wagamama.
Previous to joining Yellowhammer, Spragg spent two years as commercial director at Novus Leisure and has also held roles at Whitbread, Scottish & Newcastle and Pizza Hut.
On leaving Yellowhammer he set up his own consultancy business and aided Novus with its successful integration and brand repositioning of Balls Brothers and Lewis & Clarke.
