Fork & Blade, which currently operates the Black Penny, the Great Queen Street-based café, and the Ted’s Grooming Room chain across London, will launch a new concept called Firedog on the former Piquet site in Fitzrovia.

Launching at 92-94 Newman Street, Firedog will take a 3,202sq ft site over ground floor and basement due to open in early 2017.

Nick Weir, joint managing partner at Shelley Sandzer, which acted on the Newman Street deal, said: “We have been an extremely active agency in Fitzrovia for the past few years now and helped highly regarded operators launch new concepts in the area. It is great to be so thoroughly embedded in what is one of the capital’s most impressive and vibrant locations.”

Piquet, restaurant set up by chef Allan Pickett and restaurateur Andre Blais, went into administration earlier this year 12 months after opening.
