Berlin inspired kebab concept Döner Haus has taken Byron’s former unit in the Corn Exchange Manchester.

Set to open later this year, the 180-cover restaurant will serve Berlin-inspired quality kebabs and other German classics, alongside beers and cocktails.

The Grade II listed Corn Exchange faces onto Cathedral Gardens and includes dining space in the atrium. The first-floor space will also be transformed into a stylish bar area.

Kebabs start at £7.70 and are served on sourdough fladenbrot, with other dishes including flatbread, schnitzel and a foot-long frankfurter or bratwurst. Vegan options include falafel bites, a vegan schnitzel and a veganwurst.

This will be the third site for Döner Haus, led by Sanjeev Sanghera under his Bavava Restaurants, with a restaurant in Glasgow, and a smaller Doner Shack unit in Leeds Trinity Kitchen.

Another restaurant in Sunderland has closed.
