Dishoom has appointed Stephen Neudegg, ex of Casual Dining Group as its finance director.

Neudegg joined the group at the end of last year after two and half years with CDG. He was most recently commercial finance director for the group, having previously headed up finance for Las Iguanas, La Tasca, Concessions and Franchising.

Dishoom currently operates seven sites, with then De latest opening in Manchester in December. It was Dishoom’s second opening outside London, following its launch in Edinburgh in 2016.

Speaking to MCA this month, co-founder Shamil Thakrar said that despite pushing it geographic boundaries the group is in no rush to become a national brand.

He said: “Maybe we need to make that transition, but we still feel like a smallish company, even though we have 900 employees. We want to keep that ethos.

“The distance tests you and can mean your culture doesn’t always translate. We are very anxious to make sure it’s all one team. That’s why I resist the national thing. As a management team we go to every site every week. We try to keep everything the way we ran it before.”
