Chef Niall Davidson, formerly of Chiltern Firehouse, will open his debut restaurant – Nuala at the White Factory Collar development near London’s Old Street.

Named after Davidson’s niece, the 75-cover restaurant opening will be the prelude to the opening of an all-day concept launching next January.

The site will also feature a basement bar, which had the working title Nuala’s Bar and will feature live music.

Launching the initial phase of the scheme next month, the restaurant will feature a wood fire and traditional meat-led dishes

Come January, Nuala will become an all-day restaurant opening for breakfast, and extending its opening hours to seven days a week.

Nuno Mendes, who is executive chef at the Chiltern Firehouse and currently runs Taberna do Mercado in Spitalfields, is set to launch a further venture at the White Factory Collar development.

It is understood that the chef could be looking to bring his outdoor street food market project – The Long Table – to the scheme, which is being developed by Derwent.

White Collar Factory offer of 237,000sq ft of new office space and include the Old Street Yard, which will contain three restaurants, totalling 10,000sq ft.

The team behind Foley’s, the modern world food-inspired concept led by ex-Palomar sous chef Mitz Vora, has already opened Passo’s at the scheme.

Davis Coffer Lyons and Shelley Sandzer are acting on the restaurant mix for the scheme.
