Quique Dacosta, the three Michelin-star Spanish chef, has revealed his new rice-focused concept will be called Arroz QD, and will open in Eastcastle Street, Fitzrovia in early 2019.

A collaborative project from Dacosta and his London team. Arros QD will showcase Quique’s unique style of cooking and highlight premium Spanish ingredients.

The focus will be on rice - a product that does not currently have much presence in high-end gastronomy, it said.

MCA reported in January 2017 that Dacosta was looking to launch a paella concept in London, backed by the team behind the Iberica chain of restaurants, called InPaella.

At the time it was understood that the new venture was looking to raise £4m initially to aid the opening of six restaurants over the next five years.

In December 2017, MCA reported that he had applied to open within The Plaza building in 120 Oxford Street, on the corner of Wells Street and Eastcastle Street.
