Cosmo, the world buffet restaurant operator, has closed three sites, in Coventry, York and Leeds, as flagged up by MCA’s sister title BigHospitality.

The Coventry site closed after 15 years of trading, while York has closed and reopened under an unrelated buffet brand Panda Mami.

The Leeds site, which relaunched under upscale format Cosmo Luxe in the summer of 2017, is understood to be have closed towards the end of December - though a note on the website said it has “temporarily closed due to technical issues”.

A note on Cosmo Coventry’s Facebook page blamed “well documented pressures on our industry and tough trading conditions”.
