Coco di Mama is to open its first store outside London, on Broad Street in Reading, on 10 February.

The new store will offer the fast casual brand’s all-day value-led Italian menu, comprising made-to-order pasta pots and specialty grade coffee, alongside the office catering menu. Its design has been adapted to high street customers, with a coffee shop atmosphere and options to order in-store as well as delivery.

In December 2022, MCA reported the Azzurri Group-owned brand was looking to take its first steps outside the capital towards building a nationwide presence. It is focusing on expanding retail partnerships, taking its retail range nationwide, and broadening its offer.

Coco di Mama’s retail range is currently exclusive available in 50 Sainsbury’s stores in London, and the company is working on expanding its retail range

The brand is working on different formats and the flexibility of its offer as it trials a pasta counter on the M6 in partnership with Roadchef, with the view to build a presence in travel hubs.

It is also in talks to franchise as it accelerates expansion.

MD Jim Attwood commented: “We’re really excited that Reading will be our first flagship store outside of London as part of our regional expansion plans. We hope to bring something new, exciting, and generous to Reading’s high street customers, and a brand that also gives back to the local community”.
