Chop’d managing director Eddie Holmes has tod MCA he is keen to expand the concept further in the regions after opening its first site outside London.

The salad bar concept opened in Manchester’s Cross Street on Monday and Holmes told MCA he expected future openings to be a mixture of regional launches and openings in London.

The next opening will be in Leeds in October and Holmes said he hoped to add to the London estate before the end of the year.

The Manchester site has seen Chop’d collaborate with Grindsmith Coffee and features a shared working space in the basement.

Holmes said: “It’s obviously very early days with Manchester but initial response has been great. We think there’s huge potential across the UK for healthy food that also – and very importantly – tastes great. I’d see us opening a mixture of sites in and out of London going forward.”
