The Casual Dining Group (CDG) is to open the first regional high street site for its Oriel brasserie brand this summer.

The new 130-cover restaurant in Chislehurst, Kent, will be unveiled next month after a £500,000 investment.

The design and decoration for Oriel has been led by Richard Lafond, who specialises in Parisian-style restaurant designs. The menu has been created by CDG executive chef Martin Caws, with an emphasis on classic French dishes.

Caws said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the classic Oriel brasserie to Chislehurst. Oriel was once known as an institution of French cuisine in the UK, and we’re confident this new restaurant will prove very popular. It will also give us a fantastic opportunity to experiment and test some classic French menu items and recipes, to the benefit of the wider business.”
