Carluccio’s, the all-day Italian café chain led by Simon Kossoff, has acquired four restaurants from the ex-Paramount Restaurants estate, which was placed into administration last November, for an undisclosed sum. The group has acquired the Brasserie Gerards in Berkhampstead, Pinner Reigate and Teddington. The 57-strong chain will now carry out refurbishment on the sites and expects to open them in May/June. The company has already secured sites in Paddington and Colchester this year, which added to the four Paramount units, takes it over half to its target of opening 10 units in 2012. The latest deal is thought to almost bring to an end the Paramount Restaurants business. The 24-strong group was placed into administration last November. Alongside the four acquired by Carluccio’s, eight sites were picked up by Brasserie Blanc; two by new vehicle SBG Restaurants; two by Spaghetti House; three by Prezzo; two by La Tasca; one each by Byron and Camino.
