Burger & Sauce has signed five new franchisees in order to expand its Midlands base as well as branch out into Liverpool and Sheffield before the end of this year.

The franchise burger business was set up during the pandemic and has so far opened 11 restaurants, turning over £1.5m in its first year.

Franchise director Anthony Round said that the addition of five new partners was “just the beginning”. “We have experienced huge demand for our product and are now welcoming applications from more franchisees who have a passion for great fast food.”

The business opened its most recent site in Bearwood Road, Birmingham, last month.

Speaking to MCA last July, Round said the business was looking to add six to eight restaurants to its estate in 2022, before doubling its estate in 2023.

The QSR burger concept was founded by Saad Masood – a former multi-site franchisee at Pepe’s Piri Piri – in early 2020.

Market mapping has shown the potential for 300-plus sites in the UK for Burger & Sauce but Round said the business will first look to reach the 25-site milestone, and then 50, before seeing how much more potential there is.
