Burger & Lobster, the Goodman Restaurants-owned concept, has opened its second site in New York and secured its first in Thailand.

The group, which is currently consolidating its estate in the UK, has opened its second restaurant in Manhattan, in Midtown. It launched its first US site in New York’s Flatiron distrinct in 2015.

At the same time, the group, which operates seven sites overseas and 10 in the UK, has secured its first site in Bangkok, at the Gaysorn Village scheme, for an opening later this year.

The company is currently looking to sell its three regional UK sites in Cardiff, Bath and Manchester, with the two first sites already closed.

MCA understands that the group is close to selling its High Holborn site, which is also closed.

Sister concept Zelman Meats is set to open a third site in London, near St Paul’s in the site formerly occupied by Burger & Lobster at 30 Old Bailey Street.

Zelman Meats, which launched in Soho in 2015, opened its second site last year in the Harvey Nichols department store in Knightsbridge, replacing Polpo.
