BigChefs, the Turkish all-day dining concept, is working to create a joint venture in the UK to bring the brand to a central London location, MCA has learnt.
The brand, led by Istanbul-based personality Gamze Cizreli, is working with former Busaba Eathai chief executive Jason Myers, and franchising experts Seeds Consulting on the planned launch.
BigChefs will look to open in a large footprint, high footfall, central London location, such as Covent Garden.
The plans are part of wider strategy to enter Western Europe, with the first site due to open in Frankfurt in the coming months, and the second earmarked for London.
The food offer has an international outlook, while rooted in Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine, featuring fish and meat, fresh vegetables and vegan friendly dishes.
The large menus are tailored to the international location, and also feature western options such as burgers.
The brand is also looking at further expansion in Turkey, the UAE, Asia and India.
Myers, who knows Cizreli from his time working in the Middle East for the Jumeirah Group, is also working on Grosvenor Pubs, the Downing-backed vehicle, with sector investor David Ramsey.
Myers is also a shareholder in Ramsay’s Counter Restaurants, the operator of Italian casual dining brand Bancone.
