Bar 44 is to move out of its South Wales heartland with the opening of its first site in England, in Bristol.
Due to open this summer, the restaurant, on Regent Street in Clifton Village, will offer a modern take on Spanish dining.
Run by Tom, Owen and Natalie Morgan, the restaurant group has four sites in Wales - Bar 44 tapas restaurants in Cowbridge, Penarth and Cardiff, and Asador 44 in Cardiff.
Earlier this year the business had hinted it was looking “slightly further afield” for its fifth site.
Tom Morgan said: “We all spent our formative years here in Bristol and have always wanted to bring our version of modern Spanish hospitality to the city.
“I’m so excited about the space we have inherited. After a complete redesign, we will open in July and I can already picture a busy, bustling tapas bar which will hopefully become a real hub of the community.”
