Burger & Lobster, the Goodman Restaurants-owned brand, will make its debut in the Middle East in Kuwait next month, M&C understands.

The group, which will open its latest site in London at the Land Securities development in 30 Old Bailey, Ludgate Hill, this Friday, has signed a deal with Mohammed Bseiso, who currently heads up the Food and Beverage department of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Kuwait (the largest InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) F&B operation in the MENA region), to launch in the country.

Under a separate company, Bseiso currently operates more than 24 outlets (and growing) under various restaurant brands including Fauchon Paris and Sakura Japanese Restaurant.

Last month, M&C revealed that  Burger & Lobster had appointed former Chilango operations director and restaurant consultant Michael Baglieri as its new head of franchise operations, as it gears up to expand overseas.

Baglieri joins the company after two years working on his restaurant consultancy firm Juice Daddy.

B&L, which recently converted its Lobster Roll Deli site off Bond Street to its eponymous brand, has also signed a deal with Global Hospitality Asset Management (GHAM) to open in Dubai.

B&L, which is lining up further openings in the UK in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds and London’s Holborn and Canary Wharf, recently opened its first franchise site in Stockholm and as previously reported by M&C has signed deals to open in a number of Middle East territories over the next few years.
