Burger & Lobster, the Goodman-owned London-based group, is looking to open its second site in Mayfair, after applying to convert its original Smack Lobster Roll Deli site into an eponymous restaurant, M&C understands.

The group, which operates seven B&L sites in London, including one in Clarges Street, Mayfair, has applied to convert the site in Binney Street, which opened last year, to its core offer.

The company, which earlier this month opened in Manchester, is also believed to be close to securing a site in Holborn for an opening next year.

It will open its third regional site in Bath’s Milsom Place next month.

B&L, which is lining up further openings in the UK in Edinburgh, Birmingham, Leeds and London’s Canary Wharf, recently opened its first franchise site in Stockholm and as previously reported by M&C has signed deals to open in a number of Middle East territories over the next few years.

It has signed a deal with Global Hospitality Asset Management (GHAM) to open its first site in the Middle East this autumn in Dubai.

GHAM is the current franchise partner in the UAE for the Blue Marlin and Bistrot Bagatelle concepts.

It also recently launched Smack Deli a takeaway format in Soho’s Dean Street, which it is looking to roll out.
