Burger & Lobster, the Goodman-owned, London-based group, is eyeing the opening of smaller version of its Smack Deli – Lobster Roll format after securing a A1 site in Soho, M&C Report understands.

The group has secured the Chew site at 58 Dean Street for an opening later this year under the new smaller format, which is plans to roll out, with a further opening already mooted for Cardiff Bay.

The first full size Smack Deli opened initial as Lobster Roll Deli in Binney Street last year, with a further opening lined up in St Anne’s Court.

The company, which currently operates eight sites under its core brand, will open its next Burger & Lobster in the former Pacific Oriental site in Threadneedle Street in late spring.

It is already working on its pipeline for next year, with an opening lined up in Leeds, on the outside of Hammerson’s Victoria Gate development next year.

The company is set to open in Manchester and Bath later this year.

It is also believed to have secured a site in the proposed extension to the Hilton Hotel near Liverpool One.

The company opened in Cardiff near the end of last year and is thought to be exploring opportunities in the Middle East.

Seb Howard at CBRE is understood to have acted on the Dean Street deal.
