Michelin starred chef Anthony Demetre has opened a pop-up restaurant in association with Compass Group’s Restaurant Associates arm, in what the company says could pave the way for more collaborations with top chefs.

The restaurant AD12 opens today for 12 weeks at the high rise tower Tower 42 in the City of London, offering an “accessible modern bistro menu”.

Restaurant Associates said international restaurateur and chef Jason Atherton is finalising plans to open a new restaurant in Tower 42 in spring 2014.

The company said: “Following the end of a successful partnership between Gary Rhodes that has spanned 10 years, the launch of AD12 at T42 marks the beginning of a new era for Restaurant Associates. The project leads the way for further collaborations with some of the UK’s most talented and exciting chefs.”

Andy Harris, managing director of Restaurant Associates, said: “We are delighted to be opening AD12 at T42 with Anthony Demetre and incredibly excited about this new phase for Restaurant Associates at Tower 42. Our relationships with renowned chefs like Anthony are based on a shared philosophy of bringing the world’s best to every one of our customers.

“A combination of a fantastic culinary experience and spectacular views of the iconic London skyline at AD12 at T42 will delight diners this autumn, marking an exciting time not just for us, but for London’s thriving culinary scene.”
