Amazon has begun the expansion of its new restaurant delivery service in the US.

Trailled earlier this year in Portland and Seattle, the company announced that it will expand the service to Los Angeles.

“In the couple of months we have been running, we are seeing a steady growth of regulars who are using the service over and over again,” Gus Lopez, general manager, Amazon Restaurants, told Reuters.

The company had been testing the service by allowing its own employees to order meals from restaurants in conjunction with its new Prime Now delivery service.

Earlier this year, the company launched Prime Now, which is a one- and two-hour delivery service, which offers its Seattle-based customers on-demand beer, wine and spirits.

The move mark’s Amazon’s latest step to extend its online retail business into an ever-growing array of real-world domains, from grocery and household supply deliveries to referrals for contractors and home services.
