Red Oak Taverns, the pub company set up by two former associates of Robert Tchenguiz, is to re-open an historic Hampshire pub following a refurbishment.

The 17th century Kings Arms in Whitchurch has been updated throughout while maintaining the original features of the pub, Red Oak said.

The commercial kitchen has been completely re-fitted. Red Oak said the new pub layout will allow diners to eat in comfort whilst bar games can be played and live sports shown in the bar and snug.

Mark Grunnell, director of Red Oak, said: “We are delighted to continue the extensive refurbishment program within our estate by bringing the Kings Arms back to its best. Whether through our tenanted or managed divisions, Red Oak strives to offer the best pub experience we can in the communities in which we operate, and the Kings Arms is no exception.”

Red Oak was founded in early 2012 when Grunnell and Aaron Brown bought 32 pubs that were previously part of Tchenguiz’s R&L Properties pub estate.
