Northeast operator Vaulkhard Group has secured The Diamond Inn pub and hotel in Ponteland, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

According to the ChronicleLive, the group intends to run the site with no immediate change, but it is planning to invest in an interior refit in 2019.

The leisure operator, has 13 other sites, and is due to open a third Beluga in Gosforth on the site of the former Loch Fyne site early next year.

Speaking to MCA earlier this year, co-owner Oliver Vaulkhard said the business had divested its two Sheffield sites, as it looks to focus on growing the business within its northeast homeland

He said the group was in the latter stages of talks over another site in its hometown, which he said would open under a new format.
