Samba Brands Management, the US restaurant operator behind the Sushisamba concept, has confirmed that it will a further concept, Duck & Waffle, at the Heron Tower in the City of London this summer. The group, which will launch the first European location for Sushisamba across the 38th and 39th floors of the tower next month, will also open its new 24-hour concept that is “inspired by British and European influences” on the 40th floor in August. Samba Brands Management agreed a lease on the 13,400sq ft in the top three floors of the 46-storey office tower last year. Sushisamba, which operates venues in New York, Miami, Chicago and Las Vegas, will operate the restaurant and sky bar across the 38th and 39th floors of the tower, serving a blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine. The restaurant will include two outdoor terraces offering views of the City and will be accessed from a dedicated street entrance on Bishopsgate. It will also offer two restaurants open from breakfast to dinner, as well as a bar and lounge and an event space. Pub group Drake & Morgan opened its Drift site at the tower last year.
