Gordon Ramsay Holdings (GRH), the business led by the eponymous high-end chef, has acquired its fourth pub – the York and Albany, in Camden, north London. GRH, which is thought to have paid around £4m for the site, will re-open the pub in May following a refurbishment. Fleurets, the property agent, is thought to have brokered the deal. The group’s other pubs are: The Narrow, Limehouse, east London, which is a Scottish & Newcastle Pub Enterprises lease; the Devonshire in Chiswick, an Enterprise lease; and the Warrington Hotel in Maida Vale, a freehold acquired for around £5m. It is rumoured that the new pub in Camden has been acquired for Angela Hartnett, a Ramsay protégé, to run. Previous owner Gary Love spent £2m buying the York and Albany freehold from the Crown Estate in 2006 and a further £1.8m renovating it.
