Punch Taverns has denied reports that it is looking to appoint financial advisers to oversee a restructuring process. A report at the weekend speculated that Punch was looking to appoint NM Rothschild, Lazard, KPMG or PricewaterhouseCoopers for the job. It said Punch's bankers at Deutsche Bank are thought to have requested that the company have financial advisers on standby in case it breaches its covenants. However a Punch spokesman said: "The Daily Express got this wrong — we have not breached our debt covenants and are not looking to appoint financial advisers."
