Nightcap has secured a new site for The Cocktail Club (TCC), in Birmingham, as it continues with its cluster expansion strategy.

The owners of TCC, Adventure Bar Group and the Barrio Familia group of bars, said that following the successful opening of larger TCC venues in Reading and Bristol in recent months, it would be opening a flagship site for the brand at 31, Temple Street in Birmingham, later this year.

The new ground floor site comprises around 4,600 sq ft and will be split into three bar areas.

The new opening will be the third for the brand in the city, joining Adventure Bar Group’s Tonight Josephine bar and its outdoor concept Luna Springs.

Speaking to MCA last summer, Nightcap chief executive Sarah Willingham said the business was looking to grow TCC in the West and South West of England initially, and was looking to build up a cluster of sites in the region, before looking to expand in other areas in the UK.

Originally called London Cocktail Club, she explained that Nightcap would be dropping the London part of the name, for openings outside the capital.

“It will still very much be LCC and the vibe will be the same […] but we will be opening The Cocktail Club in Bristol or The Cocktail Club in Birmingham, for example.”

The Birmingham venue represents Nightcap’s sixth new lease for TCC since acquiring it last year, taking the total estate for the brand to 16.

Nightcap is under offer or in legal negotiations on 25 further premises across the group.
