Late Knights Brewery has secured its first site in north London, founder Steve Keegan has told M&C.

The company, which currently operates five bars in south London, Kent and Brighton, is taking a site with a private landlord in Islington with the intention of refurbishing it over the summer.

On the concept he said: “It will probably be a mixture of what we currently do in Peckham, which is very much craft beer focussed, but with the ability to do a really good food offer, because it has a decent sized kitchen.”

Once refurbished the pub will have approximately 60 covers.

Keegan said he was unsure whether the site would adopt the Beer Dispensary or Beer Rebellion branding of other sites, as “I’m not sure that carries much weight in north London”.

He said the work would involve relocating the bar but many of the fixtures being removed could be transferred to its Carshalton site - a retail unit where Late Knights is close to securing permission for change of use.
