Harvey’s, the Sussex brewer and pub operator, has bought a Grade II-listed pub in Newhaven.

The company has bought the Bridge Inn in Newhaven town centre for an undisclosed sum. “We are very excited to be taking over this public house and look forward to reopening it shortly,” Havey’s said.

In the past 18 months the firm has also bought Lincoln’s Bar in its Lewes home town and also its second London pub, the Cat’s Back in Wandsworth.

Speaking to M&C Report as Harvey’s published its full-year results in April, joint managing director Hamish Elder said: “I don’t discount the possibility that we shall be looking for others but there’s nothing specific on the horizon.”
