Ei Managed Investments is to launch Urban Pubs and Bars Two – a partnership with the founders of Urban Pubs & Bars, Nick Pring and Malcolm Heap.

The Paradise by Way of Kensal Green, the Royal Oak in Harlesden and the Rose Pub & Kitchen in New Cross will form Urban Two’s first collection of pubs.

The pubs, Ei Group sites, previously operated as part of Urban Pubs & Bars 13-strong estate, and will continue to operate in the same format.

Heap said: “Having worked with Ei Group for many years, we are delighted to be partnering with their Managed Investments business. Our team is passionate about food and drink and we look forward to exploring new areas in London.”

Nathan Wall, operations director for Ei Managed Investments, added: “Ei Managed Investments goes from strength to strength, partnering with some of the country’s most exciting managed house operators. We’ve worked closely with Nick and Malc for years and are delighted to be able to combine forces for Urban Pubs and Bars Two.”

Last month Urban Pubs & Bars acquired the Opera Tavern in Covent Garden from the Salt Yard Group.

Pring told MCA that the deal was the first of four the group hoped to conclude before the end of the year. This includes a second iteration of Well Street Pizza, with the group also keen to secure a permanent venue for its Bat & Ball pizza and ping pong concept.

Urban Two will be Ei Managed Investments’ 11th Managed Investments. Other expert partners include Rupert Clevely, with Hippo Inns, Karen Jones, with Frontier Pubs, and Ben Stackhouse, with PubLove.
