Sylvester McCoy, the actor who once played Dr Who, has won an enforcement order against Geronimo Inns. The actor complained to council planning officials after drunken customers at historic pub The Hill in London’s Chalk Farm habitually jeered and abused him as he visited friends at an adjoining house. The council discovered that a previous owner of the pub had added decking in the beer garden which allowed customers to sit within inches of the neighbouring property’s windows. Camden Council ruled that this and other changes did not have planning permission and that they damaged the design of the Grade II listed building. The council has given Geronimo Inns, who acquired the pub after the alternations had been made, six months to remove the offending decking. The Times 26/06/04 page 13
