Roger Payne, the man behind The Cuban bar chain, has disposed of his venue at City Point in London for an undisclosed fee. The bar in Ropemaker Street, Broadgate, has been acquired by David Bance, owner of the London nightclub Parker McMillan and entrepreneur behind the Bance Group.. The move by Payne, which leaves him with two other Cuban bars in Camden and Canterbury, comes as he plans to launch a £5.5m restaurant and nightclub in Camden this May. He has entered into a joint venture with Camden Stables Market to open a venue called Shaka Zulu underneath the Gilgamesh restaurant. The 850-cover outlet will feature two restaurants, a bar and club and will be themed around South African Zulu culture. Payne also owns London's Sound nightclub in Leicester Square. Property agents Davis Coffer Lyons (DCL) brokered the deal.
