Blind Tiger Inns, the Chris Tulloch-led operator, has opened its 15th site after taking on the The Grapes in Liverpool’s Matthew Street.
The Star Pubs & Bars site is famous as a former haunt of The Beatles.
Tulloch, the former Weston Castle director, told the Liverpool Echo: “The pub is well known and has a historical background so we have worked hard to retain its original features. We have even discovered a few that have been hidden over the years, such as beautiful fireplaces and exposed brick walls. We’ve brought everything back to its former glory.”
Tulloch told MCA last year that there was “certainly potential” to take on additional pubs through Star, which is the landlord for the bulk of its sites, but that there were also opportunities to ramp up its estate through other partnerships. “We get a lot of interest from various pubcos – they all know what our model is so they contact us and we’ll have a look at those sites,” he said.
