Stuart Ross, the long-serving chief executive of Belhaven Group, is to step down from the company later this year. Ross, who is approaching his 60th birthday, will continue in a part-time non-executive capacity at the brewer and pub operator, which is now part of Greene King. A spokesman for Greene King said that it was “always planned” that Ross would conduct an orderly handover following the purchase of the business in 2005. Ross, who led a £23.5m management buyout of Belhaven in 1993, remained at the helm after Greene King bought the Dunbar-based group for £187m.
