Premium gastropub operator The Barkby Group has acquired a new site in Huntington, Cambridgeshire.

The group has said it will develop a 43,410 sq. ft mixed-use trade and retail scheme in the space, valuing it at an estimated gross development value of £10.7m.

“I am delighted to have exchanged contracts for this site in Huntingdon,” said Charles Dickson, executive chairman. “

“The site is well positioned to benefit from the development and economic growth of the Oxford Cambridge Corridor. We are seeing strong demand from both the retail and employment sectors and pre-lets will be secured before work starts on site.”

The announcement comes after the group completed the reverse takeover of a group of companies controlled by the Dickson family, including Coffee Workshop, earlier this month.

The group is now made up of a Commercial Property Development division; Barkby Hospitality (comprising Barkby Pubs and Workshop Coffee) and Centurian Automotive.
